Crop does not accept cm and mm values

Post by davidh »

Crop Transformation accepts only inches. When the units are set to cm or mm, Physical Width and Height values are multiplied and overwritten.

I found a problem where cm and mm were reversed. Is there something else?

Fixed in next release.

Don't feel bad -- if you had not made the mistake, I would not have found the bug in crop.

Well, I should feel a bit bad, because I have not discovered the bug in the Crop. :)

Anyway I have an additional observation regarding the Resize, which I am not sure is part of the original problem I tried to describe. It is about leg in the screen refresh.

Here is the whole description.

Preferences: Units: cm

image info:
2868 x 4320 @914.4 dpcm
20.235 x 30.48 cm

Displayed info in Resize dialog before any change:
Pixel Width/Resample
Width 2868
Resolution 141.732 dpcm

then:
change set to Physical Width
change Physical Width to 15 cm -> PWP automatically recalculates it to 96.7749 cm, and resolution to 21.969 dpcm

change the resolution to dpi and to 288 -> the Width recalculates to 624.3546 and the output turnes into an error.

but:

change first the dpcm to dpi -> the resolution recalculates to 360
change 360 to 288 -> the Width recalculates to 130.5542

Then when I then try to move the dialog, there is an unpleasant lag in the screen refresh .

I fixed several problems in Resize. As near as I can tell, your example should now work, but I am not entirely confident that other problems do not remain. Will do some more testing and post and update tomorrow.
