PWP 8 Crash While Loading Workspace with Distort Transformation

Post by jfoster »

PWP 8.0.540 crashes upon attempting to load the Distort transformation in the attached workspace.

I got a new computer over the summer, and I went back to the old one (running 8.0.513) and PWP crashes on that as well.

It looks like Distort was using a lot of stack space which could cause an overflow. Fixed for next release.

The original file is a 4480 x 6720 48bit tif that doesn't compress down to typical email attachment limits. I created a proxy (blank white) 4480 x 6720 48bit tif and replaced the original with it. It seems to create the same crash. Attached is a zip of the proxy. Is that doesn't work for you, I'll post the original on my website for download. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks, I was eventually able to reproduce the problem without the file -- it worked at first because the debug version I normally test with has more stack space allocated to it.
