Suggestions for the User Interface

• Include information on the currently selected Lookup Table (LUT) file in the transformation dialog box :
  • Filename and pathname of the loaded cube file ; if not loaded show None or Empty
  • Prologue comments from the LUT file, e.g. Created by, Copyright
  • Title of the LUT file
• Separate visually in different sections of the Dialog box the controls for generating a cube file, as opposed to using pre-built LUT files. Move the "Save LUT as cube file" and "Build LUT from a reference image" to a separate area with the reference image icon.
• Introduce LUT acronym in the help text ( the term LUT is widely used in photo editors ). Reason : the help search box does not find the term "LUT".

Interesting, I was unaware that cube files contained metadata. I was eventually able to locate the Adobe file specification document.

It looks like the Created By and Copyright entries you mention and other lines that start with # are comments and not actually part of the file specification. The Title is however a part of the specification and should probably be supported.

The term LUT simply stands for lookup table and is used in many different contexts in image editing. The term cube file is, as far as I know, unique.

Other editor documentation use the acronym LUT much more than Lookup Table , for example

The ability to provide a TITLE to a user-created Lookup table would be useful.
