Level and toggling vertical and horizontal guideline

In the Level transformation, if I start adjusting the rotation angle using the horizontal guideline, and then switch to vertical guideline (for further refinements, for instance), the angle resets to zero. Would it be difficult and a good idea to parse the already-set angle to the other mode when switching the vertical/horizontal modes and resetting the angle to zero only when resetting the settings?
