Update Available - Version 8.0.127

Post by jsachs »

An update is available to Version 8.0.127 (9-Aug-2020)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Added support for creating 16-bit masks via a new 8/16 tool bar in the Mask dialog box. All transformations were also updated as necessary to work with 16-bit masks. Fixed several minor problems in the mask dialog box. This constitutes another fairly extensive rewrite of the Mask tools and some of the transformations. As such, it is possible that there are some problems I introduced that my testing did not uncover.

Mask Median Tool: Fixed problem causing mask not to update when threshold slider was moved.

Amount Menu: Reordered menu items so an accidental double click does not launch help.

When copying files from a camera card to a folder, Picture Window now issues a confirmation message issued when done.

Made some minor changes to hopefully eliminate 1-second blinking on some computers.

Hello, I've just installed 8.0.127 and am having issues using the mask transform. As noted under another post https://www.dl-c.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2639, PWP8 crashes my PC when using this transform. It would be useful to be able to go back to a previous version and reload it. The next version back stored on my computer is 8.0.116, and I find it even less stable in this instance than 8.0.127. Ideally, I'd be able to pick out a release newer than .116 but back several levels from .127. So, would it be possible to have access to the most recent 4 or 5 releases on a rolling basis? That should make life easier, I think. Thanks, Jonathan and Kiril, for all you do.

All previous versions of PWP will have the same flood fill problem with very large images, so going back to an older version would not help. Until I post a new version that fixes this issue, please avoid using flood fill on very large images.
