There was a mystery about the message "Copy would create circular references."
I met this a several times when I tried to copy a transformation from one branch to another. What was strange about it was that in such cases it was possible to copy it only to the end of the branch. I checked it many times but could not see any reason for a circular reference within or between the branches. I did not post it because I was unable to simulate it.
Now I seem to have found the reason. It lies in the Layout transformation. If an image is used in the Layout (Panel) and you try to copy another transformation above it, you get the message.
Since I mostly used the last image in the Layout, I was not allowed to copy another transformation anywhere but at the bottom of the other branch, which was not where I wanted it to be.
The same naturally happens within a single branch. You cannot copy an image above another which used in the Layout. But you can copy it below it and then use Edit - Move up.
