An update is available to Version 8.0.9 (20-Nov-2019)
The changes (taken from the update log) are:
New Levels and Color Tool (Transformations/Tools/Levels and Color). This lets you paint color and brightness adjustments directly on the output image, thus replacing some of the missing tools from PWP 7.20 that let you adjust brightness or saturation by painting on the image. I also plan a similar Adjust Tool which will provide even more adjustment options. See the help file for more details. There are two new tool bar bitmaps added which you will need to download the full installer to get.
Quick Pick: Now displays the most frequently used transformations at the top of the list – frequency statistics accumulate as you use Picture Window. You can select up to nine of the most often used transformations by typing its number. Transformation selection by letter continues to work exactly the same as before.
New Starfield transformation under Special Effects – it applies a random, simulated starfield to a background image.
Layout: inputs are now cleared on Reset and before loading a saved settings file.
cufft_10.dll is no longer required (it was used only by the Texture transformation to perform 2D inverse FFT using a graphics card) which significantly reduces the size of the installer. Parallel execution via multiple threads is now used instead of the graphics card – still quite fast if you have a new computer with multiple cores.
Tooltips: fixed problem causing a display tooltip to block certain keyboard input such as Quick Pick. Still does not work with keyboard shortcuts however for some unknown reason.
Confirm Profile Conversion dialog box: added a help button and a corresponding help topic to clarify what it does.
It looks like recent Windows 10 updates have broken something concerning dragging windows between monitors with different scale factors. Until this is fixed, or until I figure out a workaround, I recommend setting the same scale factor for both monitors to avoid the issue.
Step Wedge Transformation: you can now set the spacing between patches as low as zero.

A suggestion for the Clone tool: enable single-channel mode cloning (e.g. HSV-V).
