You might want to try the image browser (

) -- you can see thumbnails of all your images and use the up and down arrow keys to cycle through them either forwards or backwards.

Another alternative is to use the History tab in the thumbnail browser in the left panel. This shows dialogs and all images arranged according to their evolution. Clicking on a dialog or image item in the display brings it to the top.
