Like the subject line says, if PWP crashes and the most recent Autosave workspace is then opened, the (last successful operation in this case) file open transformation is missing.
The crash in this case occurred after aborting a Brightness Transformation with Create New Mask on the newly opened file, and then attempting to open the Paint tool.

Autosave doesn't record an added file opened in workspace.

Technically, autosave is done when you click OK on a transformation, not on a File Open via the Windows dialog box, but I take your point and will add an autosave after File Open as well.
Let me know if you can reproduce the crash.

Re: Autosave doesn't record an added file opened in workspace.
I've seen this crash before when performing roughly the same editing steps. In both cases a casual attempt to isolate steps to reproduce it didn't work. I'll try to look at it more when I have a chance.
Thanks.

I believe I have a reproduction case for you. See attached workspace. To reproduce the crash:
1. Open PWP
2. Open Workspace
3. Open 8-Bit tiff file
4. Select Brightness Transformation (on the 8-Bit tiff)
5. Select New Mask (on the Brightness transformation)
Crash.
Let me know if you need the underlying image files.

Hold on... It seems that just steps 3 - 5 will reliably cause the crash. I'll try to get the image file to you.

I emailed a zip of the tiff to you.

Just checking -- Do you have a default Mask settings file or default Brightness settings file?

I just changed the mask default file to set the mask paint feather to zero prior to this happening this morning.
Also, after the initial crash, a few odd PWP 8 crashes were occurring until I re-booted PC. This might explain the crash happening only on the TIFF file.

Yeh, ugh. PWP 8 is unusable at this point. Should I reset the Mask Default somehow?
I'll finish my project with PWP 7 for now.
