I cannot remember how I managed to save a custom crop proportion in the Crop/Add Border transformation. I did that once before (it adds a new menu item to the Proportions list), but now I forget how I did it. Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Bob W

In the Crop transformation, select Custom for Proportions - it's near the top of the drop-down menu.

Re: How can I define custom crop proportions
Jonathan,
Can I permanently save the custom proportions, so that the next time I launch PWP, that's one of the permanent menu offerings?
Thanks,
Bob

Custom proportions are remembered between sessions, but the next time you change them the previous values will be lost.

Re: How can I define custom crop proportions
Jonathan,
OK, thanks, I guess I did not remember. The last menu item is "16x9 (HD TV)" and I thought that was one I made up. I guess it's a standard offering.
It would be nice to add a menu item (or items) that selects the aspect ratio of the monitor you are displaying on.
Thanks,
Bob W

Re: How can I define custom crop proportions
Hi Bob,
One way to address your question is to set the custom width/height dimensions and also enter a resize value, like say to the long dimension of your monitor, and then save as the default settings for the Crop transformation (under the Opt button). This way every time you open the Crop tool, your custom settings are displayed.
The settings would need to be re-set if some other crop is desired, but can save time if you often crop images for wallpaper.
Cheerio
