I was attempting to duplicate DieterM's virtual sky/cloud Texture [http://www.dl-c.com/cgi-bin/discus/show ... #POST28665] as illustrated: and noticed the following:
(1) when selecting color from the Color 1 dialog, moving the circle on the hexagon does not initially update Preview until the vertical color bar is clicked... ...then moving the circle on the hexagon will continuously update Preview; and...
(2) when 16 bit is selected from OPTions with an Apply or OK; the Output image does not match the Preview. Preview and Output do match with an 8-bit selection. True for either BW or colors.

You were correct regarding point 1)... ...the initial Color 1 HSV channel values are 0 [black]... ...so moving the circle on the hexagon while it change Hues and Saturations, does not change Value which remains 0 and will show as black in the Preview until a change in Value is initiated... ...Note: PWP's Color dialogs' color space is HSV, the values shown for the RGB and HSL when selected are converted HSV values.
Color 2 dialog will update Preview when the circle is moved on the hexagon because Value is greater than 0 [actually 100].
...concur that point 2) remains as described.
Thank you for your interest/investigation...

Kiril,
is there a simple way to recover a deleted post? :)

I noticed a post was missing. I believe that there is no way to recover a deleted post. (At least there is a warning to that effect when you delete a post.) Is it possible to regenerate it?

In my post I confirmed Den's observation described at 2) . At 16 bit the result image always contains just the plain color from the Color 1 dialog without any texture. It does not matter how many colors have been added, it is always the Color 1.
Regarding point 1) I just assumed that since the Color 1 default color is solid black - the default position of the slider on the vertical bar is completely down - the preview cannot reflect any color change made in Color 1 hexagon as long as the slider remains at the bottom. Once the slider is pushed up at least a bit, the preview reflects the change because the color 1 is no longer solid black. "Black is black" used to claim Los Bravos.:)

Re: PWP v7.0.14-32bit--Texture xform: Color 1 & 16-bit
1) is not a bug but as others have pointed out is a quirk of the HSV color space
2) has been fixed for the next maintenance release - apparently 16-bit texture output never worked before.
