When I open PWPro and then open a Tiff or Nef file, everything is OK
However, when I start from an image file (double clic or open with) I get two windows with the following messages :
. Please wait while windows configures Picture window pro 64 7.0
. Select the installation package for Picture window pro 64 7.0
and it's impossible to go further.
(In the windows explorer, the PWPro logo is associated with the image file)
Was OK with PWPro 6.x
Windows 7 64b , PWPro 7.010 64b

Re: Open with ... error
This sounds like the wrong application file is associated with the image file. The associated file should be the current version of Picture window Pro.
Try to reset the association. In the more recent versions of Windows you can do so from Windows Explorer. Right-click on an image file and choose Open With. Then select 'Choose Default Program' and select Picture Window Pro.
If PWP is not one of the choices or the choice results in the wrong application file, you may need to navigate through the 'More options' choice and then 'Choose another app on this PC'. This last choice takes you to Program Files and lets you choose an particular exe file. You should choose pw70.exe in the Digital Light & Color\Picture Window Pro 7.0 folder.
Unfortunately you may have to repeat this process for each file type.

That's exactly what I did, and I got the 2 messages I mentioned.ksinkel wrote:

Re: Open with ... error
You may have inadvertently chosen the wrong file. You can confirm that you are selecting the PWP executable by launching it directly from Program Files by navigating to it in Windows Explorer and then double-clicking on it. This should launch PWP.
If this does not help, please send me a screen shot of your Windows Explorer display showing pw70 and include title bar so I can see what the path is. You can send this to support@dl-c.com.

Re: Open with ... error
After some e-mail interchange and determining that the problem was in how Windows associated the image files with PWP, Bernard was able to fix the problem. According to his note:
KirilKiril,
Problem solved ..
I uninstalled PWP and reinstalled it, letting the installer set the file associations, and now it works. I think I did the same during the initial install.
Thanks for your help,
Bernard
