Count Colors for 16bit & 48bit images?

I'm using PWP 5.0.1.4
The menu choice "Count Colors" is not available for 16bit and 48bit images. Is there an alternative method for getting the # of unique values/colors in these images?

No there isn't - the method used for 8-bit per channel images can take an inordinate amount of time and memory.
