Issues with Updating Masked-Area-Only Histogram in Conditional Curve Transformation

Post by jfoster »

In the Conditional Curve Transformation, the Masked-Area-Only histogram does not update if the "Display Input" radio button is selected.
This issue appears both when updating the mask and changing the y or x axis selection.

To reproduce:

1. Run PWP 8.0.546
2. Add the Color Chart Test Pattern
3. Add the Conditional Curve Transformation
4. Select the Display Input radio button
5. Select the Display Histogram on Masked Area Only radio button
6. Create new mask from the mask thumbnail next to the Amount slider
7. In the Mask window, click the Mask Left Half button
8. Note that the histogram does not update. (Also, repeatedly click the Invert Mask button and note no histogram updates.)
9. Also note that if the Display Input radio button is set, updates to the Y-Axis and X-Axis pull-down menus that should alter the masked histogram do not.

I believe this is not actually a bug as the histogram of the left/right sides of the Color Chart image are the same. If you use top/bottom masks instead, the histogram updates.

Attached is a screen shot video showing the problem. Due to the upload size constraint it's very short. It starts right after step 6.

It shows the Mask Left Half button being activated with no update to the histogram. Then the Invert Mask button is toggled. Also no update to histogram. Then the Diplay Preview radio button is pressed (deactivating the Display Input button). Now the histogram updates when the Invert Mask button is toggled.

Also, it seems that this problem is similar to the one I reported (and which was addressed) on 9/20/25 - but in that case it was with the Brightness Curve Transformation.

OK, thanks -- got it. Fixed for next release. A few other transformations also had the same problem.
