For a while now, I have noticed a delay of several seconds when Picture Window starts up the first time it is used after turning on the computer. This appears to be caused by a setting in Windows Security that does a virus check on applications before running them the first time. You can turn this off for Picture Window (or for any other program) as follows:
1) Go to Settings and select Privacy and Security and then Windows Security
2) Select Virus and Threat Protection and then Virus and Threat Protection Settings and then Manage Settings
3) Scroll down to Exclusions and select Add or Remove Exclusions
4) Click the Add an Exclusion button and then select the program you want to exclude -- Picture Window is located at C:\Program Files\Digital Light & Color\Picture Window Pro\PWP 8.0.exe
5) Add any other programs you want to exclude (e.g. Slide Show Viewer).
6) Close the window.

Re: Slow Startup
Great tip, thank you.
My impression was that PWP launched very quickly, but after this suggestion it's instantaneous. Amazing.
