An update is available to Version 8.0.531 (29-Sep-2025)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Brightness Curve and Color Curves: fixed problem with histogram display not being updated reliably for “base histogram on masked area only”.

Selective Color Correction: fixed problems with adjusting control points with the H or S button depressed.

Image Browser: fixed problem causing leftmost columns to be hidden in some cases when there was a vertical scroll bar but no horizontal scroll bar.

In looking at the changes in 8.0.531, I noticed a minor issue. The "Show Input and Output Histograms" setting is not saved with the custom default settings.

Also, I did not see a mention of this feature ("Show Input and Output Histograms" setting) in the Brightness Curve help. Although this feature is covered elsewhere, it might be nice to reference this button in the Brightness Curve help too.

I don't see a problem here with saving and restoring the default curve settings from File Preferences. Are you sure you saved the changes for the next session? Or are you referring to something else entirely?

It's not really practical to provide a full description of the Curve control in every transformation that uses one -- thus the hyperlink to the one description under Controls and the fuller descriptions under Curves and Histograms and also in Curves and Histograms.pdf.

To reproduce:

1. Run PWP 8.0.531
2. Create a Color Chart Test Pattern
3. Add the Brightness Curve Transformation
4. In the Brightness Curve Transformation, select "Clear Default Settings" from the gear menu
5. Close the Brightness Curve Transformation
6. Close PWP, without saving workspace
7. Run PWP 8.0.531 again
8. Create Color Chart Test Pattern
9. Add the Brightness Curve Transformation
10. Depress the "Show Input and Output Histograms" button
11. From the gear menu, select "Save As Default Setting"
12. Close the Brightness Curve Transformation
13. Close PWP, without saving workspace
14. Run PWP 8.0.531 again
15. Create a Color Chart Test Pattern
16. Add the Brightness Curve Transformation
17. Note that the "Show Input and Output Histograms" setting is not saved in the custom default settings

The initial curve settings are defined using File Preferences -- click the Default Curve Options... button. This sets the initial defaults for Curve controls in all transformations.
