Question - DCP camera profiles and LCP lens profiles

Post by pierrelabreche »

Bundled with the Adobe DNG Converter (https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/camera-raw/u ... erter.html), there is a huge collection of camera and lens profiles, and other files.
The top pathname is "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw"
Reference : https://rawpedia.rawtherapee.com/How_to ... P_profiles

Example camera profile : "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Nikon Z 8\NIKON Z 8 Camera Vivid.dcp"
Example lens profile : "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Canon\Canon (Canon RF 85mm F1.2 L USM) - RAW.lcp"

Are these files usable in PWP ?

Theoretically, yes but they have to be converted.

See: https://lensfun.github.io/manual/v0.3.9 ... t-lcp.html

And for dcp files such as "NIKON Z 8 Camera Vivid.dcp" ?

Can DCP files be used directly or how can they be converted to cube files ?

You can't use them directly. I don't know any of the details as I have never tried converting Adobe lcp files.

The second question is about dcp files ( color processing ), not lens corrections

PWP only works with icc color profiles. It looks like some people have tried to convert dcp to icc but not with much success. As far as I know, the DCP file format is proprietary.

I wonder if DCP could be converted to .cube.

The DCP file format is said to be part of the DNG specification available on https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/camera-raw/d ... ative.html
