Newly Created Image Files (Test Patterns, Pasted Screenshots, etc.) Forced to Use “ V1” at End of Filename
When attempting to save an image file (using Save As) with no inherited path or name characteristics (such as Test Patterns or Pasted Screenshots), PWP 8.0.457 exhibits 2 issues.
First, PWP forces the prototype filename to be appended with the characters: “ v1”. It seems to me that in this case no versioning should be used. After the first save, ok, but initially the user should be able to name the file as they choose.
Second, if the user selects a different subdirectory to save the prototype file, PWP will not save the image file, but instead come back with another file-save screen (with the “ v1” appended to the filename) but not in the subdirectory selected by the user.
To reproduce the issues:
1. Start PWP 8.0.457
2. Create a Color Wheel Test Pattern
3. Select File | Save As
4. Note the “Save Image File” dialog box that appears. Specifically note the “current” subdirectory.
5. Change the subdirectory to another location
6. Enter the filename “the_name_i_want”
7. Click Save
8. Note that the image file is not saved, but instead the “Save Image File” dialog box reappears with:
A. The subdirectory that was NOT selected in step 5, and…
B. The “ v1” characters are appended to the user’s desired filename
