For precise alignment of endpoints, it is often easier to work zoomed beyond 1:1
Examples : Warp, Crop, Level, ...
Suggestion is to add a 2:1 button to the Zoom Tool Bar
Suggestion : Zoom Tool Bar button for 2:1 zooming
