Test pattern problems

Hi,

Just noticed this bit of odd behaviour with about half of the test pattern thumbnails.

For the following patterns:
checkerboard; color wheel; cosine falloff; gamma test; gray discrimination; RGB cube; star; step wedge

If you open them and then Cancel via the dialog window, the thumbnail in the browser window persists when you try to close it. If I close and then re-open the browser window the thumbnails disappear. If you open and then OK the settings via the dialog window and then close the thumbnail, the thumbnail disappears.

The rest of the test patterns work as expected.

Apparently, in some cases the screen was not being erased even though there were no transformations. Fixed for next release.

Unfortunately I missed the case of the image browser being in a separate window. This is now fixed for the next release.
