File open and File save back - undesired filename persistence

Post by pierrelabreche »

Scenario :
  • Process an image (file1) using File open and a series of transformations.
  • Save back the final image using File Save back
  • Keep the image transformation tree for the next image.
  • Revisit File open and select a different file ( file2 )
  • Go to the last transformation in the tree, and save back using File Save back
Outcome :
The suggested filename is based on the initial file in the transformation, that is file1, not the latest file opened, that is file2.

Scenario 2 :
Open multiple files and pick different files in the list as indicated by the red dot next to filenames. The same behavior happens.

Suggestion : derive the filename from the currently open file, that is file2.

I believe this was an unintended consequence of a recent change. I think the fix is to reset the Saved As property (that causes an S or M to be displayed at the right end of the thumbnail caption) of all the transformations in a branch if a top-level file open changes.
