Update Available - Version 8.0.335

Post by jsachs »

An update is available to Version 8.0.335 (3-Dec-2022)
Download Link: https://www.dl-c.com/Downloads.html

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Added new Detail tool similar to Clone, which copies only details and texture from one place in an image to another. It works by separating the input image to high pass and low pass versions. The high pass information is copied from one place in the image to another. This replaces the texture at one point in the image with the texture from another point, similar to Photoshop’s healing brush. There is an adjustable Blur Radius which controls the level of detail copied. This tool is good for retouching skin blemishes or removing dust spots and scratches.

Terminating a batch job that is paused at a breakpoint now cancels the transformation before it terminates the batch job.

Wow, you are not kidding... Tried retouching some portraits, to remove shiny spots on noises, and Detail works like magic.

Thank you.

The Download Page (https://www.dl-c.com/Downloads.html) caption "Version 8.0.334 Last updated 30-Nov-2022' may need updating. The download link itself is new.

Interesting. I will give it a try. Until now I have usually used Clone - Lighten only method with a very high transparency sourcing the nearest-by area.

However, the version ...335 does not seem to be available for downloading yet.

The latest one is:
Picture Window Pro 8.0 Installer – Version 8.0.334 Last updated 30-Nov-2022

Re the Detail part of the upgrade, in the other related thread, "frequency" is mentioned, and as I know little of this topic, 2 questions:

1. Does this mean the details are "cloned" but the colour/tone remains?

2. The reason I ask is there is an action (can't recall by whom), that I found a number of months ago for Photoshop, I think it is called Frequency Separation , that allows the user to "clone" the color from one area to another but retain the detail in that area, and I also think the opposite can be done, clone the detail but retain the color (not 100% sure on this last part). Is this PWP Detail a similar thing?
