PWP can't open JPG-files, Error reading file

PWP has trouble opening certain jpg-files.
I believe they were previously converted from "ON1 PhotoRaw" and "Affinity Photo".
It says "Error reding file: [name of file]".
What could that be?
With Windows (10) Explorer, I tried to find a hint in the file's properties but didn't notice anything unusual here.

Some JPEG files may use CMYK instead of RGB -- it this is the case, Picture Window will not read them.

Can you open the image files the Microsoft Photos app?
