Hi Everybody, Started noticing that after a layout has been applied, a "ghost" window is left behind. In my example it's labeled "Panel 2 Properties", and is in a new and different location from where the actual Panel 2 properties window was on my screen:
In this example I was using a two-panel layout, so "Panel 2" is the last panel. If a four-panel layout is used a "Panel 4 Properties" window is left behind.
Anyone else notice similar behaviour?
(Win 7 HP, 32-bit, PWP 5.0.1.7)
Thanks. Mark

Re: "ghost" window left behind with Layout
I haven't seen it lately, but it occurs. I don't think it's consequential.

Thanks for the link to the earlier reference Maciej. This appears to be the same issue, and while there is no real problem, I thought it was worth mentioning. If it can't be fixed, then life goes on.

Re: "ghost" window left behind with Layout
Sometimes the display drivers can do funny things. There are options for hardware acceleration in the Windows Display Properties | Settings Tab | Troubleshooting configuration which can often help remove these things. Usually setting a lower level of hardware acceleration helps.

Hi Mark,
After some delay I played with the Layout on the same configuration (Win 7 Home Premium, 32-bit, PWP 5.0.1.7) but cannot confirm the behavior you describe.

Re: "ghost" window left behind with Layout
Thanks for the feedback Keith and David. I see this happen with both XP and Win7 machines, but it is certainly inconsistent. The ghost window is easily painted over with any other open dialogue or image window, so it's not a problem in any way.
