How do I transfer my PWP 5.0 program to a new computer?

If you have a CD, install from the CD and then check our web site to see if you need to update your installation. If you do not have a CD, download from our web site and install the download. You will need to reenter your serial number after installing.

Thanks for your quick response but I need you to treat me as an idiot who doesn't know the first things about computers. Where do I find the serial number?

When you purchase any of our products, you get a serial number in the e-mail confirming your purchase. If you cannot locate your serial number, send e-mail to support@dl-c.com with the product name, your name, address, and e-mail at the time of purchase.

Thanks, I've sent a message to support. I've used Picture Window since at least version 2.0 always passing the serial number on to the next higher version. I've been downloading the program from the internet since that became a viable option about 10 years ago when I got cable. I've long since lost any e-mail with serial numbers (which I don't like to keep on the computer anyway--just gives people a chance to do mischief.)

Your current serial number is also displayed in the Help/About box.

It's on the second line.

My copies of both version 4.0 and 5.0 also do not show a serial number in the Help/About Picture Window Pro box. There is a blank line between the first line (version) and the third line (copyright). This is under Windows XP Professional.

There is indeed a case where the serial number is not displayed. We will fix this in the next update.
