Extended Scroll Wheel

I find it a very great convenience to be able to zoom using the mouse scroll wheel, and I miss this capability when I am using transforms for which the scroll wheel controls something else as in Clone, Paint, or Scratch Removal. One way to give uniformity of function and increase convenience would be to, say, zoom with the scroll wheel, and adjust brush radius with shift + scroll wheel, or the reverse.

The same as with clicking and dragging to scroll, holding down the Alt key when using the mouse wheel zooms in or out, even if the mouse wheel is being used to control some other setting.

Great, just what I had in mind, although slightly better would be consistency in all transformations, i.e. scroll wheel always zooms, and alt + scroll wheel adjusts the brush.
It would be helpful if this information were in the General Tips in the Keyboard Shortcuts (Keyboard and Mouse Shortcuts?)
