Save Back

Post by Robert Schleif »

My understanding of the documentation is that Save back begins in the directory from which the original image came. Instead, for me Save back begins in the directory to which I most recently performed a save. Could I have set something so that it does this? I would prefer that by default, Save back behaved as the documentation describes.

If there is no original, then it saves to the last folder saved to.

There is an original filename if you move up the image tree until you get to a top level image and if that top level image is a File Open. Otherwise their is no original filename.

Sorry, I wasn't paying close enough attention to the fact that Save back and Save as have different default directories.
In the documentation on Save, it says "The differences between Save As, Save Back, and Save to Default has to do..." Would it be correct if the word "only" were inserted, "The differences between Save As, Save Back, and Save to Default has only to do..."?

After you previous post, I went back and rewrote the section of the help file, so I think it should be clearer now.

Where I use File / Save Back a lot is when I am processing the first image from a new folder and want to save a processed image back into the new folder or, more commonly, to a subfolder of the new folder. After doing the Save Back, the last folder saved to is now set and subsequent files that go in that same folder can be saved using File / Save As.
