I have been using a workflow suggested by 'den' on 22 April 2009 for a High Pass local contrast enhancement and it works great. I would like suggestions on
adapting this method to use with black and white ( grayscale) images.

I would like to add an image to a lightly colored background and have the image surrounded on all sides with a black shadow similar to a drop shadow , but as I say, on all sides rather than just two sides. Would someone be willing to give me some hints as to how to do it?

Kiril, I tried to send the dpreview x1 file, but after loading the whole image, it stopped with a message that it had an internal error and couldn't send it on.

The Leica X1 raw file will open however, in Paint Shop Pro x and and also Photoshop elements 4.

Thanks Kirk, I do not have the camera yet, I was just trying a downloaded file from DPReview's test of that camera. As soon as I get the camera, I will take you up on your offer.
