Possibly append v1 to whatever name the user provides, and for subsequent saves, increment the version number.

It seems that if an image originates from a paste operation rather than a file open operation, version numbers are not generated when saving. Is this intended?

Some time ago Precise Gaussion was augmented by the addition of a cancel button that allowed termination of the transformation which was most helpful. In some of the images that I work with Precise Gaussian takes five or more minutes to run. Seeing the progress of Precise Gaussian when running a script containing such a transformation or restoring a workplace containing such a transformation would be comforting. When Precise Gaussian is running, a progress bar is displayed. It is not displayed when a script is processing the Precise Gaussian transformation. It would be useful if it did.
