Mask tool - Color Range tool

I wonder if it is possible to re-configure the Color Range tool so that it is not necessary to click the Apply button?

At present to set the range of colors to be selected one has to depress the shift button on the keyboard and move the mouse while keeping the left mouse button depressed, then release the mouse button and move the cursor from the image to the Mask tool and click the Apply button.

It would be nice if merely releasing the left mouse button was sufficient to 'Apply'.

Mike...

What you are suggesting would not provide opprotunity to add a feathering/blending gradient to the selected color range with the black sliders located beneath the spaced, points facing each other, white sliders.

Den,

Swift change of position - releasing of SHIFT to substitute (or alternate) for Apply?

Mike...

After more thought and a little experimenting... it really does not make any difference if there was an automatic 'Apply' as the result of either a 'Shift' release or a mouse button release termininating the color range selection... the black slider feathering/blending gradient adjustments could be made, then an 'Apply' clicked to add them to the 'sharp' color range mask image areas...

...and your suggestion does not increase the number of keyboard or mouse operations when feathering/blending the selected color range...

Den,

And for those not using feathering etc there is no need to move from the image to the dialog box, to and fro perhaps a number of times.
