Save As warning

Latest Version.

Recently (started this morning), whenever I am doing a "Save As" of an image, I get a warning dialogue which tells me my default folder is inaccessible (with a C:\Users address leading to "Pictures" folder). It then tells me the Windows My Pictures folder will be used as Default.

This does not happen when I do a Save As in any other program, and I have changed nothing (in PWP or elsewhere) within the last number of months and in fact, never even had occasion to use either of the a/m Default folders, and this is the first time, ever, this dialogue has appeared.

Whenever I click the X on the dialogue, it disappears and the folder I last used to save in PWP opens. There is an OK button in the dialogue, but as I am unfamiliar with this issue, I thought better to ignore that until I understand better what is happening.

If this only occurs when Saving As in PWP, does that suggest it is a PWP related issue? If not, can I presume this will disappear if I just hit OK?

Just a wild guess, but some recent Windows updates have taken to relocating Pictures, Documents, Desktop, etc. to OneDrive. Getting them back to your local computer is complicated. Let me know if this is what happened and I can point you to instructions on how to recover.

Otherwise, File Save As tries to save in the same folder as the last File Save so if that folder is, for some reason, unavailable you will get an error message.

Finally check your Default folder (File/Set Default Folder) to make sure it is somewhere accessible.

Thanks Jonathan,

Funny enough, I happened to watch a recent YT vid from a guy (askLeo or something like that) who was warning of OneDrive and some of it's negative implications and how pervasive and pushy they are in trying to get one to use it. And, coincidently, I have been receiving a pop-up dialogue (occurs every time I turn on the computer now and I just click the X) pushing me to complete setting up One Drive - Something I have no desire to do.

So I will be taking a look to see what OneDrive status is.

Thanks again,

Marv
