I have taught myself multi camera video work. Here the use of Color calibration card is the secret to keeping shots from two or more camera matching.

PWP is the first time I have seen software doing this for stills work.

I shot a Color checker this morning and ran it through the Create Profile facility.

Where do I introduce it in my correction sequence?

For me it will be useful as I photograph a lot of stage work and the lighting can vary from scene to scene - but the cast get annoyed when their costumes also vary......Yes White Balance is better than nothing but why not use PWP if the technology is there?

The Raw Develop transformation will use your camera profile if you name it the same as your camera make and model and store it in the Camera Profiles folder of My Documents\Picture Window Pro. You can use Image Info to see what name to use.

Alternatively you can use the Change Profile transformation
Set the Input Profile to your camera profile (which must be stored with the other Windows system profiles in C:\Windows\system32\spool\drivers\color)

The output profile should be your working color space profile.

While you can get a camera profile from a Color Checker, it does not really have enough color patches to make a good profile. A Color Checker SG is much better. Unfortunately it cost about $370.

Probably a better option is to use the Match Reference transformation which works well with a Color Checker. Just photograph the Color Checker as part of your scene or in the same lighting as your scene and you can use this reference image to correct subsequent images taken in the same lighting conditions.
