Crop Tool

Was doing a bunch of image cropping and found a couple minor issues:
The drop-down-menu-provided crop combinations are listed with the smallest number first (ie 3x4) and that first number appears to represent the vertical dimension.
As I was looking for a vertically longer crop box, I scrolled down and found 16x9. Thinking that this would follow the first number-vertical equation, I tried this, but found it was counter-intuitive to the rest as the 16 was oriented in the horizontal plane (should be listed as 9x16?). The 16x9 combination is the only set which has the larger number listed first. All others are smallest number first, which means no pre-dimensioned vertical boxes are available, no big deal though.....
I then decided to try the custom option. However, I discovered when I entered 4x3, as an example, I again got a horizontal image. I had to enter 3x4 for it to give me a vertical box, which flies in the face of all the provided dimensions.
