suggestion for the Paint tool : Apply To and Threshold controls

Could you add to the Paint tool the Apply To and Threshold controls that work like the similar controls in the Mask Paint tool.
I don't think this is a good idea -- it works with the Levels and Color tool because you can see the mask. WIth the Paint tool you would be blind to what areas are being affected.
You can do this now by creating a mask for the Paint tool to restrict its effect to certain areas.
