The latest version of Picture Window Pro, 5.0.1.8 is now available. This version updates the raw converter to include recently introduced digital cameras. It can be downloaded fom here: http://dl-c.com/content/view/23/54/

The last installation screen - launch program check box - closes the installation, but doesn't bring up PWP.

Yes, that is a bug in the installer script. So far, I have not been able to find how to fix it.

I can't install it either. I get the Install Shield wizard "Preparing to install screen" but that disappears & nothing else happens.

Ian,

I know of no problems of this kind with the installation script. Check to make sure that there is a hidden operating system window asking you to confirm the operation waiting to be acknowledged.

Problem registering a file type to PWP

Installed on Windows XP in the default folder. Had the previous release in a different subfolder of "Program Files" (outside "Digital Light & Color"). After installing, removed the previous release.

Now I cannot register Olympus ORF files to be opened with PWP. PWP is not in the list of program choices nor in the list of additional program choices, and when I browse to pw50.exe and click on it, Windows refuses to take my choice.

Maybe this problem is related to the bug previously reported in this thread.

Have you tried registering by using File/Associations in PWP. In the Associations dialog select RAW and then click Add. That should associate PWP with all supported raw extensions.
