An update is available to Version 8.0.191 (14-Jan-2021)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

When using Shift-Up Arrow or Shift-Down Arrow or the Edit/Move Up or Edit/Move Down commands, you can now move the current image up or down past side branches and splitters. When you move down past a splitter, Picture Window asks you which branch you want to move the current image to. When you move up past a branch, the image is moved past the corresponding splitter as well.

This feature does make the Edit command more consistent. However, once it is there I think it would be nice to have also an option All branches.
As I already suggested, if you move a transformation with settings shared by more branches down past a splitter, it also may be with the goal to use individual settings in each branch to compare the results.
The option All branches would make it easier as there would be no need to insert or copy the same transformation to the remaining branches.

This is harder to implement than it seems -- rather than perform an operation that is not really a Move with a Move command, a more generally useful command for the future might be an alternate copy button that copies the current image to multiple selected locations, similar to the current copy that copies multiple selected locations to the current image.

Then, please, ignore it. It was just a conceptual thought without any real need to implement.
