An update is available to Version 8.0.73 (27-Mar-2020)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Moved Bitmaps folder from the folder where PWP is installed to the PWP folder in My Documents to fix problem with certain button icons not updating unless PWP was run with administrative privileges.

Migrated to Visual Studio 2019 and CUDA 10.2 from Visual Studio 2017 and CUDA 10.1. Everything should work the same, but you may need to download and install a new set of Visual C++ Redistributable files if you get an error message about missing VCRUNTIME140_1.dll when installing the new version. See the updated link on the downloads page for more information.

File/Preferences: Added setting to select Local or Web help file. Web-based help files are viewed via your default web browser and can therefore be zoomed larger or smaller. Local help files are faster and work whether or not you have internet access.

Masks: fixed problem with Re-open Mask Dialog Box missing from the Amount menu in some cases involving multiple amount masks.

Added a copy of the PWP Help file as a PDF file to the Downloads page.

Reinstalling didn't help. Will the

"Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable DLLs"

link on the download page fix this?

I found a copy of this *.dll already in another program folder; made a copy; and pasted it to PWP8's program folder. PWP8 then started/opened from its desktop program link.
