An update is available to Version 8.0.65 (14-Mar-2020)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Amount controls: in the popup menu, changed Edit… to Re-open Mask Dialog Box. This menu item is only displayed if the mask dialog box is not already open.

Text transformation: new settings – Text Margins, Outline Color and Outline Width. If Text Margins is set to -1, the background rectangle can be dragged to any arbitrary location, as before. Otherwise the background rectangle is made to fit around the text box with specified margins in pixels, and it cannot be repositioned manually. The Outline Color and Width control the color and width of the outside edge of the background rectangle.

Create Profile: fixed problem of missing side-by-side button. Also added error message if color management is disabled and slightly increased the error threshold for detecting non-uniform patches.

Sliders: clicking on a slider with the Ctrl key depressed moves the slider 4 pixels right or left, depending on whether you click to the right or to the left of the current slider position. If the Shift key is also depressed, the slider moves by 1 pixel instead.

First, love the new slider capability.

But, what relation does 1 pixel or 4 pixels have to the % of the slider amounts. It seems to be half way between indents for 1 pixel??

And, in my attempts to understand that point, I spread out the slider, to view more closely and it seems this introduced an error in the operation.

Using the Brightness slider as example, if the slider is compressed in default mode, Ctrl click gets me 2.4%, but when stretched, it gives me .9 (or .8 sometimes).

There is no relationship at all between pixels and percent - many sliders have linear scales, but some are exponential, and others use various special mapping functions.

If you elongate the sliders by resizing the transformation dialog box, the Ctrl-click steps get finer since each pixel now represents a smaller fraction of the total slider width. I consider this a useful feature as it lets you adjust the step size per click.

Ah, thanks, good to know. I agree that elongating the slider to get a finer adjustment is a good thing.
