I very often used Clone Side-Branch command from a particular transformation to the end of the tree or branch to compare final results with different transformation settings.

There now seem two ways to accomplish that:
1. With the new method you use the Selection tool bar to select the images, then add a splitter to start a new branch, and finaly you copy the selected images below the splitter with the Copy command on the Selection tool bar.

2. The old way seems to be preserved with one change - the menu command Clone Side-Branch is now available only from splitter boxes. Unfortunately, when clicked on, this command does nothing.
The command has either been forgotten in the menu, or is just not functional yet. Or maybe I have missed something.

If I could choose, I would vote for preserving the old way even with the need to add a splitter first. It is a simple and useful suplement to copying trees and branches.

The Clone Side-Branch command was removed when I reworked the copy code, to reduce the number of different ways to accomplish the same thing. I removed it for the next release from the right click on splitter menu as well.

I will look at re-implementing it in a future release.

On a similar topic.

It seems to matter whether you first select images or add a splitter.

1. add a splitter to a tree
2. select images
3. click on the new splitter box to make it active
4. click the Copy selected images button -> you get a message "A side branch can only be copied to a splitter"

However, if you first choose images and only then add a splitter, you are allowed to copy images to the splitter.

In both cases the splitter is active before copying, but the order of the two steps does seem to play a role.

In step 3, you need to select the branch and not the splitter. The only thing you can insert after a splitter is a side branch, but I have not implemented that yet.

It works in the other order because after the splitter in inserted, the blank side branch is selected.

One more question or comment.

I have not found a way to create more then one version of a copied branch under the same splitter to have them on the same horizontal level.
Adding another splitter either again from the input image or from an already existing splitter, places the new splitter higher or lower respectively. This way the tree looks a bit confusing and disorderly as it is not always easy to tell that all the copied branches are identical starting from the same transformation level.

RIght click on the splitter and select Add Branch.

Really, that simple ! I must have overlooked it, somehow. Wasting your time, sorry.
