Digital Light & Color

I would like to add an image to a lightly colored background and have the image surrounded on all sides with a black shadow similar to a drop shadow , but as I say, on all sides rather than just two sides. Would someone be willing to give me some hints as to how to do it?

You can do with with the transformation Crop/Add Border
1. step: create a (solid) "shadow border" and use the (dark gray)
2. step: create the "background border" and use the softness slider
