In levelling an image, when the dialogue opens, the "level line" or whatever it is called, spans the entire image.

However, does it matter how long the line is set? Does it make the process more/less accurate if the end points of the line are placed from one edge of the image to the other as opposed to e.g. a quarter of the width of the image?

The line length does not matter, just the angle. A longer line is easier to position accurately.
