As suggested I have been using BabelPad as a PWP8 script reader/editor but lately have found a way that seems to be working consistently using Win 10's Notepad. It is simpler [has fewer choices] then BabelPad and perhaps would be less confusing to those new to 'scripts'.

Also, so that I can better track needed script revisions as PWP 8.0.exe updates, I have be saving scripts prefaced with the release date in the format: YYMMDD. For example scripts saved with today's release would be prefaced: 180622 *.* .
As always, ask if there are questions and advise needed correction(s)... ...but mostly have fun exploring.
