Sometimes I get the following error message during saving an images:

- Fehlermeldung.jpg (54.15 KiB) Viewed 3821 times
If I switch off the saving ot the script the save works.

If you can send me a copy of the file, I will take a look and see if I need anything else.

Unfortunately, it seems the WIC JPEG encoder does cannot handle the large amount of metadata of long scripts. Consequently, I have removed the option of saving embedded scripts in JPEG files, at least for now. Embedded scripts in TIFF files are still OK.

Winfried, just out of curiosity, how many transformations were used in the images that failed to save? I have not encountered the error, but I think the most steps I've used might be 6 or 8...

There were about 6 steps, but the cloning step had a lot of coordinates tracking each cursor move so the script was about 22kb.

Thank you. I guess it's not a problem: if you want to save the script save as TIFF, otherwise, save final image as JPEG. Unless, of course, you can find an elegant solution to this otherwise, Jonathan.

You can always save the script manually - or I could add an option on File Save to save the script with the same filename as the image but with a .script extension. This has the advantage that it would work with any file type but personally I dislike these sidecar files that can get lost or out of sync with the image. I was really unhappy that this didn't work since embedded scripts are one of the nicer features of PWP 8.

This is why Adobe "invented" xmp. :-) (of cause they had other reasons) The xmp-structure has to be embedded into files like *.jpg, *.tif,*.dng. So your just have sidecar files for file types, that do not support the embedding of xmp structures (i.e. raw files). You can define your own (PWP8) namespace.
