Odd behaviour - Oval gradient mask

Open an image, and id doesn't seem to matter if you start a new mask, or open a transformation and then start a new mask... Make an oval gradient mask and apply, then use the "clear mask" button. Start to draw a new oval gradient mask, and the original outline is still there, so you end of with two outlines.
Using "reset" clears the outlines, but "clear mask" does not appear to work as intended.
