Issue: Unable to delete Print Album Custom Template
Posted: August 25th, 2009, 11:42 am
Hi, I did search the PW Support forum but found no reference to this issue.
I created some custom templates in the Print Album dialog which worked very well. I then wanted to delete them. I found I could not. Probably not a critical issue but wondered if this can be fixed please?
Steps to reproduce issue:-
1. System
PC= HP t3345.uk
Windows XP SP3
PWP 5.0.1.4
PW50.pdf dated 4/13/09
2. P.321 of PW50.pdf says " To create a new template or edit/delete an existing one:
1.Display the Template dialog. On the Album Properties dia¬log click Custom.
2.To edit a template, choose it from the list of templates. To create a new template, click New and assign it a name.
3.Set the template parameters as required. Use the >|< but¬tons next to the margin controls to center the panels on the page. Use the Preview button to refresh the display.
4.Click OK to apply your edits, Delete to delete the selected template, or Cancel to back out of the changes."
3. When I follow Step 4, I do get a "Do you want to delete this template?" dialogue box. I click "Yes". The selected template stops appearing on the drop down list in Custom.
4. When I then leave the Print Album Dialog and leave PWP, and then return, the Custom Templates I deleted are still available to be selected on the Print Album - Image Layout drop down.
5. I then tried the information on PW50.pdf p. 322 " How templates are stored All template specifications are stored in a single file called PWTemplates.txt in the folder of the Picture Window execut¬able. The file is updated with any changes made during a Picture Window session when PW is shutdown. Changes include edits, additions, and deletions made in the Template dialog. Also, new templates found when an album file is opened are also automatically added to the template file."
- I edited PWTemplates.txt and removed the relevant bits of my custom templates.
However, they remained available in the Print Album - Image Layout drop down.
