I suspect this is not possible but thought I would give it a try anyway.

I often do up two images to be viewed as a pair. After I have done the processing, I like to place both in the workspace, side by side, to check/confirm that the tones/colours match aesthetically. However, although both have the same colour border (white), the image windows are encircled by the light blue image window title bar, which turns a darker blue when that particular image is selected (and active). For my purposes, this means one of the images has a light blue surround while its neighbour has a darker blue surround. I find this visually interferes with my tone/colour comparison (and of course, the more I find it distracting......the more I find it distracting!).

In an attempt to mitigate this issue I have brought up a third image, then minimized that image so it will be reduced to a title bar only, at the bottom of the workspace. And even though it is a darker blue, it is far enough away from the principle images so it won't visually interfere.

Does anyone know of a way to have only the two images open in the workspace, without either being active (with the darker blue surround), so I don't have to resort to the above solution.

The blue colors are part of your Windows theme. You should be able to modify the theme -- try googling it for more info.

Sorry, this information turned out to be incorrect - I did some poking around and at least for Windows 10, the theme settings are ignored for MDI child windows. MDI (multiple document interface) is a standard Microsoft once promulgated starting with Microsoft Office but which they later more or less abandoned. With the introduction of Windows 10, various MDI features were not updated along with the rest of the Windows code and things like the title bar and border colors are one of them. Also, some of the icons unique to MDI scale incorrectly when you change the dpi settings for your display. Older versions of Windows did let you set the MDI title bar color, but I'm not sure how far back you have to go to restore this feature.

If it's any consolation, going forward, PWP 8 no longer uses MDI and its title bars and icons work fine.
