Just saw this notice... R.I.P. Lotus 1-2-3

Says as of Sept 30, 2014, IBM will stop support for ver 9.8.0 of Lotus 1-2-3. Any twinges of nostalgia Jonathan?

And maybe it's an appropriate time to recognize the fantastic ongoing support for PWP! Thank you Jonathan and Kiril! I've been enjoying your work since Ver. 2...

Thanks for the note.

No regrets - it's ancient history now.

Yes, it may be ancient history -- for both of us. But your wonderful program was my "constant companion" in 1987 during the leveraged buyout (LBO) of my company by KKR (Kohlberg, Kravis and Roberts). It was the largest LBO to date, until dwarfed by their takeover of RJR Nabisco a year or so later (the LBO that spawned the book, "Barbarians At The Gate").

While my career in finance continued for another 17 years, that period was a memorable highpoint because it involved my direct participation in negotiating nearly $5 billion of bank loans. And $5 billion (with a "B") was a fair chunk of change 27 years ago.

I used Lotus 123 for virtually everything -- even Schedules and Exhibits incorporated into the loan documents that might have traditionally been typed up as WordPerfect documents. Thanks for a great piece of software, Jonathan.
