Two questions:

1. I often work with a full area workspace (with Browser Window closed) and frequently have multiple images and masks open and in the workspace. I reduce the images and masks so each is visible within the workspace. I do this to facilitate and compare multiple versions of transformations. However, I find myself forever multiple clicking on an image to reduce it like the others every time I complete a transform as the new image always opens to the largest size for that workspace (regardless of how large or small the space is). Is there a method to limit the opening size of the new image, to perhaps the same size as the input image?? I see there is some size limiter involved when an image is copied as the new image is opened at the same size as the original, regardless of the originals size.

2. I find it frustrating when I am using the crop tool (with the same crop size settings) on multiple images as the dimensions always seems to move by anywhere from one to five pixels. I usually have to zoom into the image I am cropping by up to 1:1 to correct the crop line prior to initiating the crop transform, especially when I am cropping an image then cropping the related mask. The numbers also move around whenever the crop area is initially set then the boundary is moved within the image by clicking on the centre cross. Is there an explanation for why the numbers would change at all and some way to prevent this from occurring??

Although I have the latest PWP version, I have seen this on prior versions as well as prior OS versions.

When comparing images I do the following:
Minimizing all images I do not need for now (masks etc.).
Then I use Window - Arrange - Tile Horizontal ( or Vertical, depends on the image)
Now I can Zoom both images to 1:1 if needed ( or any other zoom factor) and compare them easily.

About your Crop dimensions problem:
Can you tell us more details ? I have never noticed anything like this with my images as long the input images are the same pixel size.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. However, for the first issue, the problem isn't really when comparing images so the tiling suggestion doesn't quite help.

I do a lot of image blends (for abstract images) and use many different mask images as well as blend modes when blending a couple images together. I try one blend combination, get a result then try another and so on until I have up to a dozen or more images open in the workspace. The problem I run into is every time I complete an action and get a new resultant image, it opens as large as the workspace will allow. This image, as a result, covers all the other images (which have all been reduced in size so all the images and masks can be seen at the same time). So, to see all the images, I have to repeatedly click on the minus icon to reduce that image down by several sizes. I know, regardless of the workspace size, that when I copy an image the new copy opens to the same size as the copied image, even if the copied image is real small in the workspace. So I don't have to multiple click an image to a smaller size, I was wondering if there is a way to limit the opening size of an image that results from a transform as it does in the copy transform (hopefully I explained that right).

To carry on with my response:

Whenever I crop an image (which is quite often), lets say a 4000 x 6000 image cropped to 500 x 500, and prior to hitting OK, I decide to move the crop boundary around in the image by clicking on the centre +, the dimensions will not remain at 500 x 500 but will change to say 503 x 498 (or any numbers up to about 5 pixels difference). I then have to zoom into above 1:1, find the crop boundary lines and move them so the dimension numbers return to 500 x 500. I have also found that once I click OK and get a new image at 500 x 500, then click and move that or other images around the workspace, then crop another image (same initial size as the first image) the crop dimensions are also off by a couple pixels. If, however, I get the resultant 500 x 500 image and do not move any images around but just click on a new image and invoke the crop transform, the dimensions will remain at 500 x 500.

As I noted, I have witnessed this issue in prior PWP versions as well as different OS versions, so I suspect the issue is not version or computer related but is crop transform specific.

It seems that the cropping issue only happens with a fixed proportion, at least i did not notice it when using Proportion - Arbitrary.
But when using fixed Proprtion I saw the effect you describe.
Seems to be a bug, maybe some kind of rounding error.

I understand your issue with window size now, but I do not know of a solutiuon.

The roundoff problem in crop when dragging the drop box with proportions fixed should be fixed for the next maintenance release.
