Yes, thank you. That worked. Used desktop to make protable copy on USB, then with the USB plugged into the notebook, opened PWP and used it to make a portable copy on the notebook's hard drive. I didn't experiment with copying the folder from the USB to the notebook's hard drive. Would that also have worked?

I believe so. No harm in trying.

The only thing about the portable install is that to uninstall you need to manually delete the folder since the normal Windows installer is bypassed. Therefore, as far as Control Panel/Programs and Features is concerned, it was never installed.

That worked fine: desktop to USB to notebook to notebook's hard drive.
