Composite

Post by Marpel »

I am trying to determine if this issue is Windows or PWP related. I just downloaded the latest PWP version and directly after that, did a fairly extensive update to Windows (10). The update was not my choice.

If I composite two images, using a mask, the main window shows the two images side-by-side as expected, with a mask overlay on the left image. However, when I press OK, the browse window shows the newly generated image thumbnail, with associated mask etc, but the main window shows the same two side-by-side images, with the exception that the left side shows the initial image, minus the mask overlay. If I close the new image by clicking on the thumbnail X, that thumbnail disappears, but the two side-by-side images remain. If I click the main close all images X, all images disappear, but the main image area still shows the two scroll bars across the top. The only way I can eliminate those scroll bars is to close the program.

To eliminate possibilities, I uninstalled then re-installed PWP, but obtained the same results. A restart does not solve the issue either.

Can someone confirm this is not PWP related.

Further to my initial post, it appears this problem occurs in every case where I use a transform/tool in which the operation requires side-by-side before/after views. I just tried to use the Mask tool to make a mask and was left with two side-by-side images after hitting OK.

It is now close to impossible for me to use PWP until this thing is figured out......

Not your fault -- I've been making a series of global changes to try to clean up some residual annoyances and due to the huge number of different editing scenarios, my testing does not always show up problems. I am fixing the problem and some other issues with the next release. Once I get through this, I plan to switch to a bug-fix only mode with no new features for a while.

The program still works the way it is, just switch to another image and switch back to clear the display. I should be posting a fix tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the response. Good to know a fix is coming shortly. I will do the work-around in the meantime.
